Ray
Fuqua |
| Owner Ray Fuqua is a 25 year Maui resident
and naturalist who started 'Ohe'o Stables
in Hana 14 years ago and moved the business
to Lahaina in 2004 (becoming Lahaina Stables),
with the idea of sharing Maui's secluded natural
beauty, local history and folklore with select
small groups of riders and like minded folks.
A former high school history teacher, his
passion for Hawaiian history and culture almost
overshadows the natural beauty of this horseback
adventure. |
| Lahaina Stables is the only company offering
trailrides to Kauaula Valley and Launiupoko
Valley. Here you will find incredible views
of West Maui you will not see any other way
but on horseback. |
| Ray's well trained horses and fun, knowledgeable
guides make this trip a must for all nature
lovers. |

Jordan Mau |
I was born and raised on the Island of Maui, in Lahaina town. I started riding when I was 10 years old, at a stable in Makawao(Piiholo Stables). I rode english with Jillian for about 3 years before I started competing in hunter shows. I rode a numerous amount of horses, in which I learned alot. I started training and showing in Dressage soon after. I taught riding lessons to a few girls, as well as being a camp counselor (at Piiholo Stables) for many years. I got my first horse when I was 17 years old (I chose to buy a horse instead of a car!) that I did barrel racing and pole bending on. In 2004, I started working here, at Lahaina Stables, and fell in love with the horses and the job itself! I am going to school to get my general studies done, and then move on to hopefully study either Equine Science, or Sports Medicine. I hope to one day open a Ranch of my own, to where I teach and train. |

Laena has a knack for absorbing information and can share her already vast knowledge of Maui at the drop of a hat. The only thing she enjoys talking about more is horses |

| Sparky Perry |
A native Kentuckian, Sparky was born to ride whenever there was a vacant saddle, she’d be there in a flash. At home her favorite thing to do was running through the mountains with the deer. She moved to Maui, the adventurous gal that she is, and worked at a working ranch before settling in with us at Lahaina Stables.
In addition to trail guiding, she helps to maintain our horses and is an aspiring Ferrier.
Sparky can’t wait to compete in the upcountry rodeo, using our fantastic trail horses to show up the competition…and maybe even hosting the first annual Sparky Rodeo at our brand new facilities.
Sparky and her sidekick Koko love to ride together and they can’t wait for you to come visit us. |
